NASCAR in Atlanta

NASCAR is the second most-watched sport on television, after professional football. The sport has so much international reach that it is broadcast in 150 countries worldwide and holds 17 of the top 20 most-attended single-day sporting events in the world.

In Atlanta, NASCAR races are held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, just South of the city. More than 150,000 people from all over the globe attend the racetrack's two annual NASCAR events.

The 2009 Pep Boys Auto 500 marked the first time Atlanta Motor Speedway has hosted a night race in the track's 50 years of operation. This race is held in the fall.

In March, the track hosts the Kobalt Tools 500.
